Adventures in Wallpapering

There are 2 kinds of people in this world.  Ones that look at something they don’t know how to do and think “I don’t know how to do this” and ones that say, “it can’t be that hard.” Shauna and I are both the latter.  We decided wallpaper was the way to go for the office!  Shauna apparently had lots of wallpaper experience and she had recently wallpapered her own kitchen and daughter’s bedroom.  Good enough for me! No need to pay someone to do something we can clearly do ourselves. I totally helped my mom, and her friends hang wallpaper as a kid so obviously “we’ve got this”!  I ordered a beautiful intricate pattern and we waited.

Wallpaper arrival day! We have a long day of kid ubering and decide Friday evening will be fine.  After all, “it should only take about an hour.”   Headed in with high hopes we lay out the paper in order and get all our supplies ready.  I climb on the ladder and Shauna starts turning the paper over and over and finally says “is this not peel-and-stick?”  WHO KNEW THEY MADE PEEL AND STICK WALLPAPER YALL!? Clearly not me!  Four hours later we learned a lot, laughed a lot, and covered in wallpaper glue managed to wallpaper 3/4 of one room.

I spent a lot of time on a ladder and teetering with one leg braced on a cabinet using my full reach to ensure you all will have the prettiest aesthetic experience out there! We can’t wait to share this space with you, and of course our newfound wallpaper skills!
